Binkies and Bathtime

Isabelle has two loves in her life right now: binkies and bathtime.

Before she was born I was pretty adamant that we would not give Isabelle a binkie. I didn’t want it to create any problems for me as a new nursing mother, or worry about taking it away when she gets older, but mostly because I think they are gross. In the hospital I even asked the nurses not to give her a pacifier.
Now I know how ridiculous that was. We didn't make it through one night at home without giving her the pacifier from the hospital. It was obvious that she loved it and I did too. I still do. I love having a little volume control when necessary (church anyone?). Now Isabelle has mastered the art of "talking," fussing, and even smiling with her binkie in place. It’s pretty cute.
Her other great love is bathtime. This girl can’t get enough of the water and she has been that way from the beginning. She loves to kick and splash in the tub, and let me tell you as someone who felt her kicks from the inside, she is one of the world’s fiercest kickers. This little lady is going to be a soccer player. By the end of bathtime I am nearly as wet as she is. I can’t wait to take her swimming.
