Isabelle was blessed last month on May 12th. We were so happy to have my parents come to Virginia and meet Isabelle for the first time. My mom had never been to Washington DC before and we had a great time being tourists with them, but the best part of that weekend was seeing Spencer. He is serving in the Washington DC South mission and was given permission to attend the blessing. It was beyond wonderful to see him and have him stand in the circle as Isabelle was blessed.
I absolutely love Isabelle’s blessing dress. I ordered her dress immediately after we found out she was a girl and I couldn’t wait for her to wear it. That morning as I was dressing my sweet butterball I was afraid she would be blessed in nothing but a onsie. It was such a struggle to get that dress on her chubby little body. This girl of mine is pleasantly plump to say the least, but it fit, and she looked like a doll.
Matthew gave a beautiful blessing. I have loved my sweet husband for nearly as long as I have known him but watching him with our little girl just makes me love him that much more. He is such a wonderful father. It is an incredible experience to love a child so much and know that you share that love with your spouse. The longer Matthew and I are married the more in love with him I fall. I am so happy to be his wife and so grateful that this incredible man is the father of my child. She has no idea how lucky she is.
