Laugh Out Loud

I think every parent should think their child is the cutest, most lovable, perfect in every way, adorable little person to ever draw breath. I know I do, especially when she laughs. When Isabelle laughs I just melt and feel too many emotions for an already emotional mother to have. I think most people would agree that the sound of laughing tends to brighten a room, but that brand new baby, I've only been laughing for a few weeks, kind of laugh is exciting and beautiful and contagious and all other things happy. I can't get enough of it.

Aside from finding my chubby baby's laughter incredibly cute, it is also just plain funny. Sometimes she giggles for no apparent reason while staring blankly at the wall, or better yet, the vent in the ceiling. Sometimes she is so tired that everything is funny and she laughs so hard that she gets the hiccups which makes her laugh even more (until that sweet hysterical giggle turns into hysterical crying and we know that we have waited too long for bedtime). Sometimes she cracks herself up (really she cackles to herself). Sometimes she laughs at her Daddy because she loves him so much and let's be honest, Dads are all fun and games. Sometimes she laughs at me because I'm ridiculously funny and sometimes it is a courtesy laugh like she is saying, "oh Mom, you don't even know how silly you look right now and you are not even close to being funny but I find your attempt to make me smile amusing."
