December Fun Part Two

DC is beautiful at Christmas time. Everything is covered in Christmas goodness, including the White House. Some friends of ours hooked us up with a tour and the timing could not have been better. It was as festive as it gets. Really, I have never seen so many Christmas trees. There was a tree for every state, program and fund you can think of.

They have some strict security guidelines at the White House, including no strollers. Actually, we took a gamble by using the baby carrier at all because you aren't allowed purses or other personal items, but there was no way I was going to carry Isabelle on the metro and through the tour. She got a little restless by the end of it but that's what Dad's shoulders are for.

I love the way she puts her hands in Matthew's hair or wraps an arm around him. It's just too cute. Anyhow, another FABulous (that's for you, Mom) thing about DC is just about everything is free, including the Zoo. We took our little wild child to see the zoo lights and she loved, loved, LOVED it. And then she had a meltdown, the unconsolable kind, so we hurried on home but we had a great time while it lasted!

Mount Vernon does not disappoint during Christmas. The grounds were complete with a camel, the pardoned turkey and an 1800's chocolate demonstration which was surprising good. It was an incredibly beautiful day and Isabelle enjoyed being her Daddy's favorite girl. Like always.
And finally we took Roodle to see The Festival of Lights at the DC Temple. Temple Square still takes the cake but DC held her own. It was beautiful and of course Isabelle loved it.
